The course is strongly praxis based and consists of workshops, lectures, group work, interactive roleplay and simulations based on real cases.

With ten sessions over two weeks, the course gives you a broad view of humanitarian intervention from a number of University of 91果冻视频 Schools.

Course teachers

Stavroula Pipyrou

Stavroula Pipyrou is a Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews and Founding Director of the Centre for Minorities Research. She has conducted long-term ethnographic research with minorities in Italy since 2006. In her first monograph 'The Grecanici of Southern Italy: Governance, Violence, and Minority Politics' (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2016) she presents a theory of “Fearless Governance” – overlapping and sometimes contradictory systems of power, authority, and relational networks that enable the minority to achieve political representation at the intersection of local, national, and global encounters.

Camila is a PhD student in the School of Psychology, Anthropology, and Film Studies at the University of 91果冻视频. Her research relates to the dialogue between two different knowledge systems in universities in Brazil, indigenous and scientific knowledge. This research aims to provide original scholarship on the debate about the epistemological challenges encountered by divergent groupings of indigenous students in Brazilian universities.
